Nicotine Warning
Important health and safety information about nicotine, the products sold on this website, and your responsibility as a consumer. Please read carefully.
WARNING: This product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical. Products sold on vapekage.com are intended for use by adults aged 21 and older only. Do not use nicotine products if you are pregnant, nursing, or have a heart condition.
What Is Nicotine?
Nicotine is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in the tobacco plant (Nicotiana tabacum) and in smaller quantities in other plants of the nightshade family. It is a stimulant that acts on the central nervous system and is the primary addictive substance in tobacco and vape products.
When inhaled through vapor or smoke, nicotine reaches the brain within 10 to 20 seconds, where it triggers the release of dopamine and other neurotransmitters that produce feelings of pleasure and alertness. This rapid effect is a key factor in its addictive potential.
Nicotine is classified as both a stimulant and a relaxant depending on dosage and individual physiology. It increases heart rate, raises blood pressure, and affects multiple organ systems in the body.
Addiction & Dependence
Nicotine is highly addictive. Regular use of nicotine-containing products can lead to physical dependence, meaning your body adapts to the presence of nicotine and experiences withdrawal symptoms when it is absent.
Signs of nicotine dependence include:
- Strong cravings for nicotine between uses
- Irritability, anxiety, or restlessness when unable to use nicotine
- Difficulty concentrating without nicotine
- Increased tolerance (needing more nicotine to achieve the same effect)
- Continued use despite wanting to stop
- Using nicotine within minutes of waking up
Withdrawal symptoms may include headaches, difficulty sleeping, increased appetite, mood changes, and intense cravings. Symptoms typically peak within the first few days and gradually decrease over 2-4 weeks.
If you are concerned about nicotine dependence, please consult a healthcare professional. Resources such as the CDC's quitline (1-800-QUIT-NOW) are available to assist with cessation.
Health Risks
Nicotine use carries inherent health risks. While Vapekage does not provide medical advice, we believe in informing our customers about the known effects of nicotine:
Cardiovascular effects: Nicotine increases heart rate and blood pressure, constricts blood vessels, and may contribute to the hardening of arterial walls. Individuals with existing heart conditions, high blood pressure, or a history of cardiovascular disease should exercise extreme caution.
Respiratory effects: Inhaling any substance into the lungs carries potential risks. The long-term effects of inhaling vaporized e-liquid are not yet fully understood and are the subject of ongoing scientific research.
Neurological effects: Nicotine affects brain development, which continues until approximately age 25. Use by young adults may have lasting effects on memory, concentration, learning, and impulse control.
Reproductive effects: Nicotine can harm fetal development and is not safe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Nicotine exposure during pregnancy is associated with premature birth, low birth weight, and developmental complications.
DO NOT USE nicotine products if you are pregnant, nursing, planning to become pregnant, have a heart condition, have high blood pressure, have diabetes, are taking medication for depression or asthma, or have been advised by a physician to avoid nicotine.

Nicotine Poisoning
Nicotine is toxic when ingested, absorbed through the skin in concentrated form, or inhaled in excessive quantities. E-liquids contain concentrated nicotine and must be handled with care.
Symptoms of nicotine poisoning include:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Dizziness and headache
- Rapid or irregular heartbeat
- Excessive salivation
- Abdominal pain and diarrhea
- Confusion or agitation
- Seizures (in severe cases)
- Difficulty breathing
If nicotine poisoning is suspected:
- Call Poison Control immediately: 1-800-222-1222
- Call 911 if the person is unconscious, having seizures, or having difficulty breathing
- If e-liquid contacts skin, wash the area thoroughly with soap and water
- If e-liquid contacts eyes, rinse with clean water for at least 15 minutes
- Do not induce vomiting unless directed by Poison Control or a medical professional
POISON EMERGENCY: If nicotine e-liquid is swallowed, comes into contact with skin or eyes, or is ingested by a child or pet, call Poison Control immediately at 1-800-222-1222 or call 911. Nicotine can be fatal to children and small animals even in small amounts.
Safe Storage & Handling
Proper storage and handling of nicotine products is essential for your safety and the safety of others in your household.
Storage guidelines:
- Store all vape products and e-liquids in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
- Keep products out of reach of children and pets at all times
- Store e-liquids with child-resistant caps securely closed
- Do not store near food, beverages, or medications
- Do not store in vehicles during extreme heat or cold
- Do not use products that appear damaged, leaking, discolored, or past their expiration date
Handling guidelines:
- Avoid direct skin contact with e-liquid — wash hands immediately if contact occurs
- Do not modify, open, or tamper with sealed cartridges or pods
- Charge devices only with the charger provided or recommended by the manufacturer
- Dispose of used cartridges, pods, and batteries properly — never throw in household trash
Children & Pets
Nicotine is extremely dangerous to children and pets. Even small amounts of e-liquid can cause serious illness or death if ingested by a child or small animal.
All e-liquids sold on vapekage.com are packaged in child-resistant containers as required by the Child Nicotine Poisoning Prevention Act (CNPPA). However, child-resistant does not mean child-proof — these containers are designed to be difficult for children under 5 to open, but they are not impenetrable.
Always:
- Keep all nicotine products locked away or stored out of reach and sight of children
- Never leave devices, pods, cartridges, or e-liquid bottles unattended around children or pets
- Dispose of used cartridges and pods securely — residual nicotine can still be harmful
- Educate other adults in your household about the dangers of nicotine to children and pets
If a child or pet ingests any amount of e-liquid or a nicotine product, call Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) or 911 immediately. For pets, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at 1-888-426-4435.
Nicotine Strengths & Labeling
All products sold on vapekage.com clearly display nicotine content and strength on the product listing page. Nicotine strengths are typically measured in milligrams per milliliter (mg/mL) or as a percentage.
Common nicotine strengths:
- 0mg/mL (0%): Nicotine-free
- 3mg/mL (0.3%): Low nicotine — common for sub-ohm/direct-lung devices
- 6mg/mL (0.6%): Low-medium nicotine
- 12mg/mL (1.2%): Medium nicotine
- 20mg/mL (2%): Medium-high nicotine — common for pod systems (nicotine salt)
- 35mg/mL (3.5%): High nicotine — nicotine salt formulation
- 50mg/mL (5%): Very high nicotine — nicotine salt formulation
Higher nicotine strengths deliver more nicotine per puff and carry a greater risk of dependence and adverse effects. If you are new to vaping, start with a lower nicotine strength and adjust based on your needs.
