By Oliver James, Founder of Vapekage. I tested the Fogr Next 40K with 3 different pod flavors over 6 weeks. Last updated: May 2026.

The Fogr Next 40K is a modular pod system that bridges the gap between fully disposable devices and refillable pod-mods. You buy the device once, then keep replacing pods. Each pod is rated for 40,000 puffs.

Here's the honest review after 6 weeks of daily use across 3 different flavor pods.

How the modular system works

The Fogr Next 40K kit comes with the device (battery, button, USB-C port, connector) and one starter pod. To use, you snap the pod into the device. Inhale or press the button — same as a disposable. When the pod runs out (after ~36,000 real puffs), you snap it off and snap on a new one.

The device retains your settings between pod swaps. Pod transitions take about 5 seconds.

Pod flavors I tested

  • Watermelon Ice — clean fruit profile, holds well through ~33,000 puffs before slight fade
  • Blue Razz — Razzberry candy with subtle menthol; tasted slightly cleaner than Lost Mary's Blue Razz Ice
  • Strawberry Mango — layered fruit blend; my favorite of the three

Flavor consistency was strong across all three pods. Each one delivered close to the rated puff count of clean flavor.

Cost-per-puff math

This is where pod systems shine vs. true disposables.

Scenario Cost Total puffs Cost per puff
Kit + 1 pod (initial purchase) $24.99 36,000 $0.000694
Kit + 2 pods (after first swap) $34.98 72,000 $0.000486
Kit + 5 pods (long-term) $74.94 180,000 $0.000416
Compare: 5 separate Lost Mary MT35K $99.95 140,000 $0.000714

Long-term, Fogr Next is 40% cheaper per puff than buying multiple full disposables. The break-even point is at the second pod swap.

Build quality

The device feels substantial — closer to a small pod-mod than a typical disposable. The build is rated for 500+ charge cycles, which is roughly 12-18 months of daily use. The pod connector is firm; pods snap on and off cleanly without rattle or wobble.

Where it falls short

  • Larger form factor. The device is bigger than a typical disposable. Won't fit in a tight jeans pocket. Bag/glove box only.
  • Pod availability. Limited to ~10 flavors vs Lost Mary's 30+. If you want flavor variety, this is a downside.
  • No display. The device has battery LED only (no juice level or puff count). Less information than competing devices like One Tank 40K or Geek Next X50000.
  • Proprietary pods. Only Fogr Next pods work. You're locked into their flavor lineup.

The verdict

Get the Fogr Next 40K if: you vape consistently (200K+ puffs over 6 months), you want long-term per-puff economics, or you prefer pod systems over disposables philosophically.

Skip it if: you want maximum flavor variety, you need a compact device, or you're not committed to staying with this brand long enough to amortize the device cost.

Frequently asked questions

Does Fogr Next 40K really hit 40,000 puffs?
Per pod, yes — close to it. Real-world testing: ~36,000 puffs of clean flavor per pod. The hardware (device + battery) is reusable indefinitely; you replace pods. So 'total device life' is unlimited, but per-pod life is about 36K real puffs.
How is Fogr Next 40K different from a regular disposable?
It's a modular kit, not a single-use disposable. The device (with battery + electronics) stays with you long-term. The pods (with juice + coil) are replaceable. This is similar to a refillable pod-mod (like Caliburn G3) but with disposable pods instead of refillable ones. You get the convenience of disposable juice with the long-term economics of reusing the hardware.
How much do replacement pods cost?
Around $9.99-$12.99 per pod at most retailers. Fogr Next replacement pods at Vapekage. Each pod delivers 36K real puffs, so the cost-per-puff math is significantly better than buying multiple full disposables.
Is the device worth buying separately?
Yes if you'll commit to 2+ pod replacements. Single device + single pod = $30+. Multiple disposables for the same total puff count = $50+. Break-even is at the second pod swap; everything after is savings.
How long does the Fogr Next device last?
The device's electronics and battery should last 12-18 months of normal use before performance degrades. The 1500 mAh lithium battery is rated for 500+ charge cycles. After that, you replace the device, not just the pod.
Are the pods compatible with other brands?
No. Fogr Next pods use a proprietary connector and only work with the Fogr Next 40K device. They are NOT compatible with Foger devices, Lost Mary, Geek Bar, or any other brand's pod systems.
Can I refill the pods myself?
Technically possible but not recommended. The pods are designed as single-use sealed units. Drilling and refilling them often results in leakage, damaged coils, or burnt flavor. Just buy fresh pods — they're $9.99 each and deliver 36K puffs.
