By Oliver James, Founder of Vapekage. I get asked this 5 times a week. Last updated: May 2026.

This is the most-asked question in my inbox right now: "Are Fogr Next and Foger the same brand?"

Short answer: No, they're two completely different brands. The naming similarity is genuinely confusing, but Fogr (no E) and Foger (with E) are separate companies with separate product lines.

The spelling difference (the only easy way to tell)

Look at the brand name on the packaging:

  • Fogr — F-O-G-R, four letters, no "E"
  • Foger — F-O-G-E-R, five letters, with "E"

That's it. There's no other reliable way to tell them apart at first glance because both have similar packaging color schemes, both target high-puff-count buyers, and both have product lines named "Next" (Fogr Next, Foger Switch Pro Next, etc.).

Different product lines

Brand Main products Architecture
Fogr Next Fogr Next 40K (device + replacement pods) Modular pod system
Foger Foger Bit 35K (full disposable), Foger Switch Pro 30K (pod system) Mixed — both disposable + pod options

Different hardware platforms

Both brands use mesh coils and 5% nicotine salt — that's standard for the disposable category. But:

  • Fogr Next 40K uses a more modular kit design. The 40K device is sold separately from the replacement pods. Each pod delivers ~36,000 real puffs.
  • Foger's pod system (Switch Pro) is more compact but with smaller per-pod capacity (24K real puffs each).
  • Hardware feel: Fogr Next devices are slightly larger; Foger Bit is the smallest in either brand's lineup.

Different juice formulations

Both brands source juice from different suppliers, so flavor profiles differ even when flavor names match. "Watermelon Ice" tastes different in a Fogr Next than in a Foger. Neither is "better" — they're just different.

Frequently asked questions

Are Fogr Next and Foger the same brand?
No. They are two completely separate brands. The naming similarity causes confusion, but Fogr (no 'E') and Foger (with 'E') are different companies with different ownership, different juice formulations, and different hardware platforms. They share no manufacturing, no parent company, and no product lines.
How do I tell Fogr from Foger at a glance?
Look at the spelling. Fogr has 4 letters (F-O-G-R, no 'E'). Foger has 5 letters (F-O-G-E-R, with 'E'). On packaging, the brand logo will explicitly show the spelling — Fogr Next products clearly print 'Fogr Next' while Foger products print 'Foger.'
Which is better, Fogr Next or Foger?
Different products, hard to compare directly. Fogr Next focuses on the 40K modular pod system; Foger has the Bit (35K disposable) and Switch Pro (30K pod system) as their main lines. For pod-system durability, Fogr Next 40K wins on rated puff count. For pure disposable simplicity, Foger Bit 35K is the better choice.
Is one of them counterfeiting the other?
No, both are legitimate brands. Both have their own US distribution networks, their own packaging, and their own product lines. The spelling similarity is genuinely coincidental (both companies launched independently). Vapekage carries both as distinct product lines.
Are they made in the same factory?
Unlikely. Fogr Next and Foger appear to use different manufacturers (different coil designs, different battery chemistries, different e-liquid suppliers). The hardware feel is noticeably different in hand.
Which one is the pod system?
Both have pod systems but with different architectures. Fogr Next 40K is a fully modular kit (device + replaceable pods). Foger Switch Pro 30K is also a pod system but with smaller pods. Foger Bit 35K is NOT a pod system — it's a fully disposable single-use device.
Why do customers confuse the two?
Beyond the spelling similarity, both brands target similar use cases (high-puff disposables) and both have rapid product turnover with similar naming conventions ('Next' brand in both portfolios doesn't help). I clarify the distinction for customers daily.
